Welcome to this December’s newsletter, This year has gone so quickly! We had a very busy November; thank you to everyone who came along to the bonfire night celebrations, it was great, the baked went down very well, I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Our trip to Meadow Farm for lunch was a big success- we all enjoyed some lovely food, everyone had a wondeful time and we look forward to our next visit.
We also ventured to Longbridge town centre for some retail therapy, but because I’m an idiot, we went on offers day so it was super busy! Lot’s of bargaims though, big thanks to Denise for the fabulous 20% vouchers, we hope you and your mom enjoyed yourselves.
This month should prove to be just as busy and fun packed. There’s so much going on; lots of entertainers and carol sevices- so lots of singing. Our christmas party and raffle as well as a panto and harp concert- it’s all going on!
We hope to see you all over the festive season to enjoy the celebrations and parties. Everyone here at Grosvenor House wishes you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Each year we hold a Christmas raffle and this year is no exception. Throughout December tickets will be available for £1.00 a strip, any donations towards it would be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go towards our resident’s fund and it will be drawn on Friday December 23rd.
Name the bear.
We’re also holding a name the bear completion this year, it can be found in the foyer along with the list of names. It’s £1.00 a guess and all money raised goes towards our resident’s fund, the winner will be chosen along with the raffle on the 23rd.
Monday 5th December.
We’ll be decking the halls with boughs of holly today, together we will be getting the home ready for Christmas- Yay!
Tuesday 6th, 11.00. Christmas puppet show.
Lina will be joining us with her puppets this morning for a Christmas themed puppet show- I can’t wait, it should be great fun.
Wednesday 7th, 11.00. Christmas Communion.
Meryl and John will be holding this month’s service, with a Christmas theme and lots of carols, everyone is of course more than welcome.
Thursday 8th, 10.30 onwards. Christmas shopping trip.
I think it’s about time we had a little retail therapy, don’t you? We’re heading out on a shopping trip today, we can have a little lunch too and spend the morning Christmas shopping. If you would like to come along with your relative, please let Zoe or Jensy know as soon as possible as minibus places are limited- thank you.
Tuesday 15th, 2.00pm. St. Laurence
Church carol service.
This has become a bit if a tradition now, each year the choir from St. Laurence Church spend the afternoon with us singing some lovely Christmas carols, it is followed by afternoon tea with mince pies, we do hope you can come and join us for a lovely afternoon.
Thursday 15th, 11.00 onwards. Panto, Christmas party! long service awards and Rusty Smith. It’s Christmas party time! Yay! We’re having a panto this year; it starts at 11.00 and will be followed by our long service and photo competition awards. All awards will be presented by our lovely directors. We will then enjoy lots of yummy Christmas party food along with something sparkling- hic! After lunch, to finish the day Russell will be singing his much-awaited Christmas medley - which should be fab by the way! We do hope to see you for a day of Christmas celebration.
Monday 19th, 11.00. Alison Moss- Christmas sing along.
Alison is one our old favourites, she we be joining us for a morning of Christmas songs and carols as well as a name that tune competition- for prizes- so it could get competitive!
Tuesday 20th, 2.00. Fiona’s harp concert.
Fiona, the minister from the Baptist church in the village will be joining us this afternoon for a little harp concert. This should be a really lovely festive afternoon with mince pies and mulled wine, I do hope you can come along.
Wednesday 21st, 11.00. Liz Rider.
Liz will be coming along with her guitar for a morning of Christmas carols and folk songs, a nice morning of singing for us to enjoy.
Wednesday 14th, Chiropody visit.
Hilary will be spending the morning with us, if your feet need attention please let a member of staff know and we can add you to her list.
