A very warm welcome to June’s newsletter. We had a very busy May; Me, myself and Di’s visit went down really well; we all had so much fun, I’ve already booked them in for their next session. We’ve managed to spend lots of time outside and have planted all of our summer bedding. The hanging baskets look wonderful and will go up any day now and the vegetable patch is looking great even though it’s been under attack from Mr and Mrs slug!
With the kind donation left to the resident’s fund I have bought some beautiful poppies and bird bath for our garden. They look wonderful, they’re a great addition to the raised area along with the Acer which always looks it’s best at this time of year.
Also thank you to all of those that came to last month’s resident and relative meeting and shared your views with us. The minutes to the meeting, if you would like to read them will be available in both of our lounges. If you have any questions of comments following the meeting, please feel free to pop into the office on your next visit to speak with Jensy or Mercy.

We’re off on our latest trip today, we’re heading off to the new Marks and Spencer to have a little look around. There’s also a nice selection of shops for us to visit and plenty of places for us to grab a spot of lunch whilst we are there. If you would like to come along and are able to accompany your relative could you please let me know as spaces are limited. Should be a lovely day.
Hilary is the local chiropodist that visits us from her practice in Alvechurch. She has regular monthly visits to us, the dates of these can be found on the notice board opposite the kitchen. June’s visit is Wednesday 29th, please let us know if your toesies need attention and we can add you to her list.
Carehome.co.uk is a website designed to help those looking for the perfect home for their loved one. Thanks to your kind recommendations we appear very high on their list with a score of 9.8 which means lots of people get to see our wonderful home. If you haven’t already we would love you to fill in a recommendation form, they can be found beside the signing in book and are free to post back- thank you.
Those who attended last month’s meeting will be aware our refurbishments are well under way and very nearly finished. All of our bathrooms and shower/wet rooms have been bought up to date with renovation and decorating. The new staff cloak room is currently under way and next room on the list is the hair salon.
Our lovely hairdressers Sallie and Caren have put forward lots of fresh new ideas that will help bring the salon up to date but also to make it a more practical place for them to use.
I’m keeping the colours a secret so it will be a surprise for you all, but you can all look forward to a sparkly new hairdressing salon very soon.
It was also raised in the meeting that a few people are finding it difficult to open or download our newsletter each month. This month and from now on if it proves helpful I will print a few extra copies of the newsletter. Please feel free to help yourself to the copies without the Springview wallet, they will be available in the foyer.
Sponsored walk 2016.
Each year we hold a sponsored walk to raise money alongside the fete for our resident’s fund.
This year is no exception and this year we’re walking the Arrow Valley Park Lakeside trail on Sunday 17th July. If you would like to take part, we will be printing the sponsor forms the last week of June so just pop into the office to collect one.
I know for certain there is an ice cream cabin with lots of amazing flavours to choose from, so Kamal will be buying everyone who takes part at least seven ice creams! There’s an incentive if ever I heard one!
(disclaimer- the above statement about the purchase of ice creams may be untrue!)
I’m going to say the ‘F’ word!
I know, how quickly has this come around? We have a proposed date for our summer fete- Saturday 23rd July. If you would like to volunteer your time on the day we would be more than grateful. Also if you have anything to donate to our stalls we would be very appreciative; tombola prizes, plants, books or any other donations would be great. Please see the office or Zoe if you have any queries.
