"It's a small home in a nice environment and a nice place."
At Grosvenor House we are extremely proud of our activities programme. Many of our residents have little or no mobility, which makes it even more important that we engage them as much as possible by birdwatching, keeping up with current events and news, singing and of course, a bit of pampering, to name but a few.
We at Grosvenor House know how difficult it can be to choose the right care home. We are a home that shows warmth, love, comfort and support, giving only the highest standard of care.
"We want to make sure that residents feel this is a home from home."
We provide privacy and individual space in a range of single and double rooms, most with en-suite facilities and some with their own patio space. The residents at Grosvenor are able to relax in the privacy of their own rooms, or can enjoy our large communal living spaces. The home is set in beautiful grounds and there is a lovely conservatory where people can come and spend quiet time.
We appreciate the importance of people’s emotions and treasured possessions and are happy for residents to bring along any belongings which will help in their transition from home to life at Grosvenor House.
As well as large private areas, the home has two large lounges where residents can relax or meet with visitors. At the rear of the house, there are large landscaped gardens where residents can sit or enjoy a spot of gardening or bird watching.
"We try to incorporate anything and everything the residents like to do and used to do to make them feel comfotable."
Activities form the basis of daily life and at Grosvenor House we firmly believe that the body and the mind are very closely linked. Keeping the body active, even for those who are perhaps less mobile than they once were, can also do wonders for their state of mind.
As such, we have a full time experienced activities coordinator who provides frequent events, outings and occasions for residents, their families and friends.
We aim to encourage every resident to continue to maintain their interests, to incorporate their hobbies and to enjoy their leisure time. We also encourage carers to spend time with residents participating in one-to-one activities throughout the course of the day.
"What we try and do is make sure we understand what the residents preferences are so we can deliver the best care possible."
Meals are an important part of the day and nutrition is an important element of care, so menu choices are carefully planned to make mealtimes special. Our experienced chef creates a wide range of balanced, nutritional dishes, prepared daily using only the freshest local produce. Residents can choose to eat in the dining room, lounge or in the comfort of their own room. We also cater for any residents with special dietary needs or requirements.
